As this has no insulation it is obviously not intended for extended winter use. It does have a little cushioning in it but not enough to get excited about. I know this sounds lack luster so far but I have used these gloves for two or three weeks with no complaints. They seem to be sturdy, durable, and fit as well as a leather glove of this type should be expected to. If you're looking for something that is going to fit you like a second skin, this isn't the type of work glove you need to be looking at. If you're looking a good all pupose glove then these will do.
(UPDATE) I have had and used these gloves almost daily for months now and they have held together while doing everything from chopping/stacking wood to carrying stone to simply raking and shoveling. I stand by my original recomendation, for the price you're getting a great pair of gloves.

I like everything about the gloves, except ... there is something in the stitching in the one finger that keeps stabbing my finger every now and then.
Great Protection from thornes on bushes February 5, 2010

These gloves are super for protection from thornes on berry vines. I usually have scars on my arms from these thornes every time I have to prune back the berry vines. Only wish they had better arm protection. I have to use a long sleeve shirt to protect my arms while prunning the vines.

I bought two sets of these gloves so me and my honey could use them when doing yard work..they are perfect...we have alot of rose bushes and these gloves keep us from getting stuck with thorns when we are pruning ..and also make the weedeating and hoeing and digging easier...no more blisters..nice thick material and very heavy duty..
